puig·mir is co-directed by Carles Puig (architect. Barcelona, 1968) and Maria Antònia Mir (interior designer. Mallorca, 1974).
We are an award-winning architecture and interior design studio, based in the center of Barcelona and with more than 20 years of experience in residential projects, workspaces, as well as spaces for artistic and scientific use.
Since 2006 we have designed projects with an artisan-like attitude, together with our team of professionals, from their initial conceptualization to their final work detail, with a language based on a constructive logic and a sustainable and aesthetic understanding of the materials.
Somos un premiado estudio de arquitectura y diseño de interiores, con sede en el centro de Barcelona y con más de 20 años de experiencia en proyectos de viviendas, espacios de trabajo y científicos, así como espacios de uso artístico.
Desde el 2006 redactamos proyectos con una actitud artesanal, junto con nuestro equipo de profesionales, a partir de su conceptualización inicial hasta su detalle final en obra, con un lenguaje basado en una lógica constructiva y una comprensión estética y sostenible de los materiales.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
We are different for our way of adding value to a place; our purpose to achieve balanced spaces and atmospheres, where what is fundamental is to put in value the uniqueness of each place, through the essentiality and simplicity of the custom-fitted detail, in a calmed manner and without formal dissonances.
In numerous cases, it is more important to remove than to add. In the case of adding, we like to do it in its proper measure. This attitude helps us manage the three vertices of sustainability: environmental (place), social (user), and economic (not only money-wise, but also what economy of means do we have: materials, industrialists, time...).
We are designers and we offer advice services, project drafting and technical assistance for those clients who need a global image and a differentiated and calm definition of detail.
In addition, we have resources to enhance the final result of the project, offering staging services and experience in the place in a differentiated and unique way.
QUÉ NOS DIFERENCIA
Nos diferencia nuestra forma de aportar valor a un lugar; nuestro propósito por conseguir espacios y atmósferas equilibradas, donde lo fundamental es poner en valor la singularidad de cada lugar, mediante la esencialidad y sencillez en el detalle a medida, de forma tranquila y sin disonancias formales.
En numerosos casos, es más importante eliminar que agregar. En el caso de agregar, nos gusta hacerlo en su justa medida. Esta actitud nos ayuda a conciliar los tres vértices de la sostenibilidad: la ambiental (el lugar), la social (el usuario), y la económica (no sólo la monetaria, sinó también qué economía de medios disponemos: materiales, industriales, tiempo...).
Somos proyectistas y ofrecemos servicios de asesoramiento, redacción de proyectos y asistencia técnica para aquellos clientes que necesiten una imagen global y una definición del detalle diferenciada y tranquila.
Además, disponemos de recursos para poner en realce el resultado final del proyecto, ofreciendo servicios de escenificación y experiencia en el lugar de manera diferenciada y singular.
WORK PROCCES
Our work process is very simple: we listen and internalize the needs of the client, and we examine well the place to define a diagnosis and draft the proposal that best reconciles the interests of the user, the place and the available means.
We understand each project as a unique and differentiated case. In some cases, it is about valuing the preexistence that we find, being delicate with them, just by introducing subtle and strategic variations.
In other works it is about creating the detail and the particularity that it discovers giving a new meaning to the place.
We believe that the generalized pressure in architecture and design to always create exceptional elements, fall into noisy and fast expiration stridence. Our project process tries to avoid this destination at all scales of work.
PROCESO DE TRABAJO
Nuestro proceso de trabajo es muy sencillo: escuchamos e interiorizamos las necesidades del cliente, y examinamos bien el lugar para definir un diágnostico y redactar la propuesta que mejor concilie los intereses del usuario, del lugar y de los medios disponibles.
Entendemos cada proyecto como un caso único y diferenciado. En algunos casos se trata de poner en valor las preexistencias que nos encontramos, tratando de ser delicados con ellas, tan sólo introduciendo sutiles y estratégicas variaciones.
En otros trabajos se trata de crear el detalle y la particularidad que descubra y otorgue un nuevo sentido al lugar.
Opinamos que la presión generalizada en arquitectura y diseño por crear elementos siempre excepcionales, incurre en estridencias ruidosas y de rápida caducidad. Nuestro proceso proyectual trata de evitar este destino en todas las escalas del trabajo.

We are experts in planning senior management offices in representative buildings, and in laboratory planning in scientific and technological centers, both nationally and internationally.
We have special knowledge in housing rehabilitation and rural spaces for agrotourism and sustainable ecotourism.
